Mike Valentine Memorial Scholarship Program
We were honored to have Mike Valentine as part of the Ohio Valley Region Porsche Club of America for so many years. He participated in every aspect of the club, but we particularly enjoyed that he spent much of his time instructing the new drivers in our High-Performance Drivers Education program. Mike was not only an instructor but a friend. To honor our friend, we would like to offer an HPDE scholarship in his name to new drivers coming into the program for the first time. We would ask that any nominations be presented to one of our HPDE committee members no later than April 1st each year. The criteria for a nomination are as follows:
Scholarship Criteria
When presenting a nomination, provide the contact nominee’s information
We ask that all nominations come through members of the Ohio Valley Region, Porsche Club of America
The driver would be a novice driver, having never attended an HPDE event previously
The driver must be between the ages of 18 and 35, and
If they are not yet a PCA member, we would ask them to join PCA following their acceptance
The scholarship will cover the entry fees for both the spring and fall events of that year. The scholarship is non-transferable and only good for that year. The decision will be made by the committee prior to May 1st each year and the nominees will be notified on May 1st of the committee’s decision. At the end of the season, we will be asking the scholarship winner to write a short article for the Bent Pylon on the OVR website as well as include some photos of the two events they attended with us.
