Call to Order

7:00 p.m. by President Jeff Clark and welcome to all attendees.

Presidents Report:  

President Clark welcomed all first time attendees and gave a short report.  There will be ten (10) monthly Board meetings in 2025 and lots of events for membership participation.  There will be something for everyone’s interest and he encourages all members to be engaged. See more details on specific events for 2025 on our website calendar.

Secretary:

Secretary Lindsey reminded all attendees to visit the OVR PCA webpage at www.ovrpca.org.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Autocross:

No report.

Concours:

No report.  

Driver Education:

 Jeff Woodard reported the 2025 Jerry Wolf Spring ClassicHPDE event is at Mid-Ohio May 30th, 31st and June 1st.  There are 90 drivers registered to date. There will be HPDE training classes at the Hamilton County Coroner facility February 22nd, 2025. Lunch will be provided. There have been100 registrations to date with a classroom limit of 150 attendees. Please register with Club Registration for both events.

Historian:

Membership:

Craig Lewis reported that PCA Zone 4 growth in 2024 was 1.5%.  There were four new members and twenty-seven members whose membership has lapsed in January 2025.  There were 1,250 primary members and 654 affiliate members for a total of 1,904 members.  This year is the 70th birthday of the Porsche Club of America.  It began with 12 members in September of 1955 and now has a total membership of 167,000 members. Discussion on different types of PCA membership levels.  January report passed out to all attendees

Social Media:

Nathan Kelley reported that he will be doing Instagram and Facebook posts, he is 18 years of age and owns a Porsche Boxster. There will be a Sycamore Cars & Coffee event on April 12th with OVR PCA reserved parking at Sycamore High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  There will also be a night event at Element Eatery on May 3rd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Informational flyers will be posted on the webpage and calendar.

Rallye/Tours:

President Clark reported there are three tours for 2025 in the works with dates and details soon to be announced.

Web Site:

Paul Sonoda reports that the calendar is being updated with upcoming event notices.  Reminder to all that OVR PCA members get a 10% discount on parts and service.  

Old Business:

Reminder that all Bent Pylon articles need to be submitted to Paul Sonoda at admin@ovrpca.org.   There is a preferred vendor list concept being worked on to add to the Resource section of the webpage.

New Business:

The next Board meeting will be in March and the time and place is to be announced.  

Good of Order: 

Jeff Woodard reported that applications for the Mike Valentine Member at Large memorial scholarship for the spring and fall HPDE events are still being accepted and the final award decision will occur on May 1st.  Please go to the webpage for details on how to apply for the scholarship. Jeff Nerad reported that Dick Weiss turned 91 years of age today.  Dick Weiss is the oldest living PCA member.
