As 2009 comes to close, it is time to reflect on a historic year for our region. It marks the second time we have hosted a national event, the first being Parade in 1993. Volunteers put in countless hours of effort to make it truly memorable. One of those volunteers, Kathy Hunter, has relinquished her Bent Pylon duties to Richard Groot. She has put together the newsletter for the past 5 years and has made it what it is today. We cannot thank her enough for her contributions. Now, we are excited to see what Richard has in store for the newsletter in 2010.
Carston Naber after spending the year attempting to balance both his family responsibilities as well as those of being club president has decided to step down for the second year of his term and give those duties back to the capable hands of Dave Raum. Carston's one year has certainly been memorable. For those who do not know, Dave was the President prior to Carston and did a remarkable job then and is poised to carry on where Carston left off.
We have added several new committee members this year. If you have been to any events you will probably recognize some of the names I am about to rattle off. Let’s welcome Walter Chin, Chris Laux, Larry Lindgren, and Herb Beck to the team of committee members that helped to make 2009 memorable. Here is to what I expect to be an even better 2010...Happy New Year!!!
